There are lots of things I could say about myself, but the most significant one for this blog is that I care very much about doing something to alleviate poverty, particularly in developing countries. That's how I became involved as a board member with World Relief Canada.
I think boards should lead by example, so I've always been a committed donor. But more recently I've been reaching out of my comfort zone to talk with people about the work that needs to be done and how to get involved.
I told our Director of Philanthropy, Eric Frans, that I would put it all on the line August 2014 and do Tough Mudder to help raise money for women and children who have been disadvantaged in developing countries.
This blog is about that journey.
